The Gambian Association would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have stood by the bereaved families of the 07/07 Hawkeswood Metal Recycling accident that claimed the lives of 5 of our loved ones. We have witnessed humanity in mass action, the families have been consoled profusely during the turmoil and devastating times. The local communities and other societies all over UK have rendered their solidarity to support the families and the Gambian community both morally and financially. We would like to thank all the associations and individuals on behalf the bereaved families for their merciful and gracious compassion during the difficult times and while we may not be able to name everyone for their supports, it is worthwhile to mention the associations who have contributed handsomely to the appeal for the families of the Hawkewood 5 below:

The Gambian Association would like to inform the general public that we will close our appeal for the families of the Hawkeswood 5 early next month, any individual or organisation who would like to contribute to our appeal are kindly urged to do so as soon as possible. Once again we want to acknowledge that the bereaved families and the entire Gambian Community in Birmingham felt honoured and appreciative of the invaluable support and compassion showered upon us when needed most.
