The whole world is experiencing a widespread of COVID-19 pandemic that has caused a global lockdown to avoid the exponential infection. It is very important for everybody to recognise the fact that COVID-19 is very real and it is affecting a lot of people in the UK and the rest of the world. The UK government, like many other governments around the globe, has advised the general public to stay at home and go out only when it is essentially necessary, maintain Social Distancing and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to safe your life, the lives of your loved ones and the general public. This advice should be strictly followed to bring the virus under control and eventually defeat it.
The Gambian Association is hereby urging all its members and the general public to adhere to the government’s strict guidelines so that we can collectively win the fight against COVID-19 in the soonest possible time to enable resuming of business as usual. We have also registered with the authorities to volunteer in the fight against this deadly COVID-19 pandemic and we are urging our members to volunteer in any way you can to give supports to the victims but care must be taken not to endanger your own life and lives of your loved ones and the general public
