It is great to be excited but it is much more fantastic when you are unexpectedly surprised by the highest office in The United Kingdom. The Gambian Association have been contributing our little quotas in the community because we believe in making a difference in the community in which we live. We are humbly honoured and grateful to be recognised by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
On Wednesday 14th February 2018, Mr. Ansumana Barrow the president of Gambian Association was invited to the Buckingham Palace on behalf of Gambian Association to meet the Queen in person on the recognition of our contribution to the community. While we felt deeply honoured by the recognition of Her Majesty, we also know that we may have to redouble our efforts in our quest to make much more difference in the community. Her Majesty has asked us to keep up with the good job and we are ready to face any challenge to make sure we do not disappoint her.
We, at The Gambian Association, were only following our passion because we believe in community support and cohesion not knowing that we have been quietly watched from a distance by Her Majesty’s Office. This is an exciting time and it will serve as the panacea for hard work and we are committed to the task. We pray our path will be cleared by the power from above who has given us the marching orders.
