TRRC DIASPORA ENGAGEMENT WEST MIDLANDS

TRRC Diaspora Engagement Mission Team will be coming to Birmingham on the 1st of September 2019. This will give The Gambians in the West Midlands golden opportunity to engage TTRC team in order to

– Ask Questions

– Give Suggestions

– Support Reparations

The Gambian Association, acting in collaboration with various associations and religious groups in the West Midlands have organised a meeting on 18/08/19 in Birmingham. Representatives from Badibou Association, Coventry Association, Gambian Association, Gambian Islamic Community Centre, United Kiang Association and Council of Elders attended the occasion. The Christian Association, Gambian Dudley Association and Gambian Wolverhampton Association could not attend the meeting because of the prior engagements but all of them sent their apologies and consents to be part of parcel of the team.

The meeting was convened so as to strategise on the modalities of hosting TRRC Diaspora Engagement Mission in the West Midlands. The attendees were excited to be part of the team and have pledged generously for the successful hosting of TRRC Diaspora Engagement Mission.

The outcome of the meeting was the creation of a WhatsApp Group, Volunteers for caterings, transportation, drinks, water & cutleries, PA System, MC, decoration, Tea & Coffee, cash pledges, etc. We cannot thank enough the people who have volunteered to shoulder these responsibilities but we are very grateful.

The team is in touch constantly to make sure all loose ends are tied up for the successful hosting of the TRRC Diaspora Engagement Mission in the West Midlands. At the moment, all hands are on deck and we are hopeful our efforts will be fruitful
